Toreros Get Road Win, 6-0
|
Cabo San Lucas and Kansas City took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros picked up a win at Debris Field, knocking off the Kansas City Tornadoes, 6-0. Starting pitcher Joey Steamer played a key role in the triumph. Steamer, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs.
The Toreros got a big at-bat from catcher Moo-hyun Boone. For the game, Boone went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Cabo San Lucas a 1-0 lead.
Boone called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
Cabo San Lucas is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 8th in 23 games.
