The inspired effort of Vancouver designated hitter Jung-tae Ko was not enough to prevent a 3-2 loss to the Peoria Caterpillars. Ko went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Peoria reliever Adam Stickells was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Alexis Coates took the loss for Vancouver. The Caterpillars, at 38-38, have now won 5 straight.

The Caterpillars got a big at-bat from right fielder Arnold Layne. For the game, Layne went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Peoria a 3-1 lead.

"The vibe's good," said Peoria manager Roberto Martínez. "We've got to keep it going."
