Mustangs Come Up Short at Albuquerque
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Albuquerque Sports Stadium enjoyed a good ballgame.
Albuquerque left-hander Shuichi Imai helped his team edge Billings by the score of 2-1. Imai kept the opposing lineup in check. Imai got the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. Imai allowed 1 earned run. Hisataro Sato, credited with the save, is now 22 for 25 in save opportunities.
The Cacti got a big at-bat from left fielder Donald Stevens. For the game, Stevens was 2-3 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Albuquerque a 2-1 lead.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Stevens.
Albuquerque leads the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division by 6½ games.
