Cats Win Another One
|
Fort Worth right fielder John Thompson played a vital role in his team's 3-2 triumph over Astoria. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times for Fort Worth. Bobby Saxon converted his 21st save in 24 tries. The Cats, at 36-41, have now won 9 straight.
Thompson had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Cats went on to win.
"The vibe's good," said Fort Worth manager Lowell Wise. "We've got to keep it going."
