Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Coal Miners
|
The Antioch Coal Miners topped the Reno Raiders by the score of 6-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Lee Brooks. Brooks went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Coal Miners on the day. The Coal Miners bumped their record to 40-34 with this latest triumph.
Brooks had a game-changing double in the bottom of the 11th. On a 3-1 fastball from Mei-shan Huang, he banged a run-scoring double to right, giving the Coal Miners a 6-5 lead. It was the 13th double of the year for Brooks.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Brooks, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
