The Fairfield Flash racked up a win at Albuquerque Sports Stadium, bumping off the Albuquerque Cacti, 2-1. Yeong-suk Kim, who started for Fairfield, pitched effectively for his team. Fairfield goes to 51-21. The win puts them 13½ games up in their division.
It could have been a different outcome for Fairfield, had it not been for Juan Carlos Cruz, the 25-year old center fielder . Cruz contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Fairfield up, 2-1.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Kim, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
