Black Knights Pull Even With 8-2 Victory

The Brooklyn Black Knights saddled the San Diego Hops with a loss at Blue Ivy Stadium. The final score was 8-2. Todd McCarthy, named player of the game, was 2 for 5, including 1 single and 1 home run. The Brooklyn left fielder scored 1 run and drove in 5. Brooklyn reliever Cong Foong was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Taylor Longbottom. The Hops fall to 10-14 and continue their lackluster start in 2033.
McCarthy had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-2 fastball from Taylor Longbottom, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Black Knights a 4-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for McCarthy.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Brooklyn manager Diego Aguirre.
