Argonauts Win at Minneapolis, 11-7
|
Manolo González added some punch to the Astoria offense, helping them outmuscle the Minneapolis Freeze, 11-7. In the game, González went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Astoria reliever Kagetoki Ohayashi picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Curt Hart was saddled with the loss. Carlos Alonzo converted his 10th save in 10 tries.
Ebrahim Magsi aided the Astoria cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh. For the game, the pinch hitter drew 1 walk in 2 trips to the plate.
"We'll savor this win," Magsi told the Astoria Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
The Argonauts, now at 31-42, know that wins in June count the same as wins in September.
