Victory Pushes Mustangs Record to 37-37
|
The Mustangs grabbed a win, 6-4, at Cobb Field, overcoming a fine effort from Detroit pitcher Steve Ferguson. Ferguson went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The Mustangs bumped their record to 37-37 with this latest triumph.
Had Kerry Hood not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Hood hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Mustangs.
"We'll savor this win," Hood told the Billings Herald, "then get ready for the next game."
