Sato Delivers Walk-Off Win for Caterpillars

Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Excavatar Park.
Peoria Caterpillars starter Victor Hernandez was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Joplin Fireballs, 5-2. Peoria now sits at 34-38, while Joplin falls to 31-40.
Yeijiro Sato, who is tied for 6th in the DKL with a .336 batting average, chipped in for Peoria with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the tenth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Victor was throwing strikes, locating well," said Peoria manager Roberto Martínez.
