The Omaha Raptors got a superb performance from first baseman Jeff Mitchell, but the Bronx Bombers still won the game, 5-3. Mitchell was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Max Grant earned the win for Bronx. He lasted 7.2 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 11 hits, while striking out 9. With the win, he raised his record to 7-2. Bronx improves to 43-28 with the win. They lead their division by 5½ games.

Lonnie Martin helped out the Bronx cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 3 with a walk.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Martin, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
