Rhinos Jolt Stogies with Late Rally
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Rubber City Rhinos and the Havana Stogies, Bob Ruíz was the difference-maker. The Rubber City right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Rubber City reliever Shinzo Sasaki was the winner. His record is now 1-2. The losing pitcher was Jimmy Hunter. The Rhinos raised their record to 15-9.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Rubber City catcher Pete Bell, facing Jimmy Hunter, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Rhinos the 3-2 win.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Bell.
