Victory Pushes Aeropostales Record to 38-33
|
Bernardo Rodríguez made an impact in the 7-3 Indian Wells win over Scranton. Rodríguez, who is tied for 2nd in the NAL with a .343 batting average, went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Indian Wells reliever Scott Bernard, now 1-0. The loser was Guo-quiang Zhào. The Aeropostales bumped their record to 38-33 with this latest triumph.
The Aeropostales got a big at-bat from center fielder Motonobu Suzuki. For the game, Suzuki went 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Indian Wells a 2-1 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Rodríguez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
