In a close game at LaGrave Field, the Fort Worth Cats edged the Acapulco Banditos, 5-4. Fort Worth right fielder John Thompson earned the nod as player of the game. He went 4 for 5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Fort Worth now has a 3-game win streak.

Thompson had a game-changing single in the bottom of the 12th. On a 1-2 cutter from Aubert Licci, he banged a run-scoring single to right-center, giving the Cats a 5-4 lead. It was the 9th hit of the year for Thompson.

Thompson described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
