Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Pasadena Bumblebees got the win.
Pasadena starter Jerry Kennedy had a strong outing against the Antioch Coal Miners at The Coal Mine. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. In 6 innings, Kennedy surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs.
Had Brian Delmont not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Delmont hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Bumblebees.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Kennedy said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Pasadena now has a 3-game win streak.
