Mentzer Excels, But Escape Win
The Scranton Escape and Vancouver Canadians obliged those fans who came to Hell Stadium hoping for an exciting game.

The Scranton Escape outlasted Robert Mentzer and the Vancouver Canadians, 8-7. Mentzer was impressive in the loss. The Vancouver left fielder belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Máximo Larreta, credited with the save, is now 6 for 8 in save opportunities.

Scranton took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, shortstop Rhett Franks hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Franks. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

The Escape now have a mark of 26-40.
