Mustangs Clip Raiders, 8-7
|
The Billings Mustangs outlasted Andrew Green and the Reno Raiders, 8-7. Green was impressive in the loss. The Reno first baseman was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Luis Sánchez was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 13 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. John Otten notched his 11th save in 15 chances.
Billings used the bat of David Ramírez to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Mustangs ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Ramírez said.
At 35-34, Billings is in third place in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League.
