Baristas Win at Fort Worth, 6-4
|
The Silver Lake Baristas beat the Fort Worth Cats, 6-4, at LaGrave Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of catcher Andrew Spence, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. The Cats, now 27-41, have lost 4 in a row.
Spence contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Silver Lake in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Spence took a fastball from Austin Meyers and stroked the double to center. His 7th double of the season allowed the Baristas to leap in front, 4-3.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Spence.
