Aeropostales Trip Phantoms in Extras

The Coronado Phantoms got a superb performance from pitcher Pedro Alejo. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Indian Wells. The Aeropostales won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Alejo was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Kevin Spurr notched his 16th save in 19 chances. The Aeropostales bumped their record to 37-28 with this latest triumph.
Indian Wells used the bat of Hsui-chen Shui to get the win. The shortstop hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Aeropostales ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We did a lot of things right," said Shui.
