Canadians Roll to 8-2 Win Over Aeropostales
|
The Vancouver Canadians got a strong performance from pitcher Wilson Polk, who stymied the Indian Wells offense en route to a 8-2 win at Stanley Park. In 5 innings, Polk surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. The Canadians bumped their record to 34-29 with this latest triumph.
The Canadians got a big at-bat from right fielder Jesús Castillo. For the game, Castillo was 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Vancouver a 3-1 lead.
"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Canadians manager Arinori Nakamura.
