Thorpe has 4 hit night, Bombers Move to 39-22
The Bronx Bombers topped the Peoria Caterpillars, 10-8, with catcher Dave Thorpe playing a big role. Thorpe went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Bombers in the win. The winner was Bronx reliever Tom Pick, now 1-0. The loser was Rainer Waldheim. The Bombers own a robust 39-22 mark.

Thorpe had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 3-1 fastball from Rainer Waldheim, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Bombers a 9-8 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Thorpe.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Thorpe said.
