The Indian Wells Aeropostales did just enough to sneak past the Albuquerque Cacti, 3-2, at Stars Field. Indian Wells pitcher Bappaka Ramanakoppa earned player of the game honors. Ramanakoppa picked up the win for Indian Wells, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2. The Aeropostales bumped their record to 34-26 with this latest triumph.
The Aeropostales got a big at-bat from third baseman Andrew Green. For the game, Green was 1 for 2 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Indian Wells a 3-1 lead.
Afterward, Aeropostales manager Mario Perez was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
