The Fairfield Flash defeated the Chicago Titans, 5-3, in Nick Adenhart League action at The War Dome, with Fairfield pitcher Gabriel Bernard named player of the game. Fairfield reliever Eduardo Fuentez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Lou Cove absorbed the loss. Benjamin Stevenson converted his 18th save in 20 tries.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the eighth, with the game tied, Jorge Ramírez was at the plate when Fairfield scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Flash to go in front, 5-3.

"Gabriel is still learning," said Flash manager Gary Altman. "The sky's the limit for him."

Fairfield is now 41-17, 9½ games up in the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division.
