Beavers Get Road Win, 6-2
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Carlos Campos, the Portland Beavers defeated the Columbus Aces, 6-2. Campos was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Beavers. Portland starter Yoshiaki Kojima was credited with the win after throwing 114 pitches over 9 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. The loss drops Columbus to 13-8.
Campos had a key at-bat for Portland early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave Portland an early 3-1 lead.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Campos told the Portland Gazette.
