Kodiaks Fall to .500 After Loss to Mustangs
|
Billings Mustangs starter José Chávez was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Calgary Kodiaks, 2-0. Chávez, now 7-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 9, walking 0, and allowing no earned runs. John Otten converted his 8th save in 11 tries.
Blair Donahue hit a run-scoring double off Shojiro Inoue in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Mustangs in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Donahue had 1 single, while going 2 for 3.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Donahue told the Billings Herald.
The Mustangs bumped their record to 31-25 with this latest triumph.
