Minneapolis Freeze starter Andrew Johnson was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Joplin Fireballs, 3-2. Minneapolis reliever Bob Torley picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tomoyuki Kiyomizu took the loss. The Freeze bumped their record to 33-22 with this latest triumph.
Jim Bungay aided the Minneapolis cause with a solo home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with a home run.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Minneapolis manager John Justin. "It's usually not just one thing."
