Islanders Rally For Late Win Over Sasquatch
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Jim Burry, the Hawaii Islanders defeated the Seattle Sasquatch, 5-3. Burry was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Islanders. Hawaii reliever Hidetada Abe picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Kirk Redman was collared with the loss. The Sasquatch, now 6-17, continue their poor start.
Burry had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Kirk Redman, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Islanders a 5-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Burry.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Burry said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
