Canadians Roll to 8-1 Win Over Phantoms
|
Coronado had no answer for Vancouver Canadians hurler Wilson Polk, who overwhelmed Phantoms hitters as the Canadians coasted to a 8-1 victory. Polk went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-0. The Canadians bumped their record to 30-23 with this latest triumph.
Carlos Vásquez went 1-3 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times for Vancouver. The 28-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Pedro Alejo. It was his 4th walk of the season.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Vásquez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
