|
António García was instrumental in his team's 5-4 triumph over the Detroit Death Stars. The right fielder went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Chicago Titans. The win was Nobuharu Fujita's in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Yoshikazu Ichihara took the loss for Detroit. Chicago is now 23-28. Detroit is 25-25.
Virgil Ayliffe went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Chicago. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Brad Ross. It was his 9th walk of the season.
García told a Chicago News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
