Yi Slugs Freeze to 4-2 Win
|
Getting a good performance from catcher Dae-ki Yi, the Minneapolis Freeze defeated the Scranton Escape, 4-2. Yi went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Freeze. Dave Sherrill, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 8-0. Pedro García closed the door for Minneapolis, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Yi had a key at-bat for Minneapolis early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and gave Minneapolis an early 3-0 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Yi told the Minneapolis News.
The Escape, now 18-30, have lost 4 straight.
