Yokoyama Excels, But Cacti Win
The inspired effort of Astoria designated hitter Yaichiro Yokoyama was not enough to prevent a 10-5 loss to the Albuquerque Cacti. Yokoyama was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Shuichi Imai, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held the Argonauts to 4 earned runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Izumo Ikarashi nailed down his 1st save.

Omar McKoy, who is tied for 9th in the NAL in triples with 2, helped out the Albuquerque cause in the top of the fourth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the left fielder went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," McKoy told the Albuquerque Daily.

The Cacti have an impressive 31-19 record.
