Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Death Stars
|
Tsurayuki Hasegawa was instrumental in his team's 6-5 triumph over the Scranton Escape. The first baseman was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Detroit Death Stars. The third-place Death Stars lifted their record to 22-23.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Anthony Miller came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Scranton pitcher Máximo Larreta, he hit a 0-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Detroit on top, 6-5.
"I felt good up there," said Hasegawa. "I saw the ball well."
