Canadians Win at Indian Wells, 8-1
|
The Vancouver Canadians beat the Indian Wells Aeropostales, 8-1, at Stars Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Kiemon Matsunaga, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Mike Bunch earned the save for Vancouver, his 2nd. The Canadians bumped their record to 26-19 with this latest triumph.
Matsunaga had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the seventh inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Canadians went on to win.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Matsunaga said after the game.
