Indian Wells starter John Faivre pitched effectively against the Coronado Phantoms at Stars Field. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Indian Wells reliever Anthony McIntyre picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Taylor Longbottom took the loss. Kevin Spurr finished the game for Indian Wells and earned his 8th save.

Had Bernardo Rodríguez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Rodríguez hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Aeropostales.

"We're in a funk right now," said Coronado skipper Jeffrey Graham.
