Canadians Come Back Late to Clip Cacti
|
Albuquerque got a terrific game from second baseman Joe Severns. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Vancouver, 5-4. Severns was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Reliever Alexis Coates picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Juan Vazquez took the loss. The Canadians bumped their record to 24-18 with this latest triumph.
Masayuki Kimura was the walk-off hero for Vancouver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Canadians pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
Kimura told a Vancouver Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
