Victory Over Cats Takes Albuquerque to 27-15
The Albuquerque Cacti picked up a win at Albuquerque Sports Stadium, knocking off the Fort Worth Cats, 6-2. On the mound for Albuquerque was left-hander Dan Thompson, who played a pivotal role in the win. Thompson, now 4-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Hisataro Sato earned save number 11.

Scotti Scannell had a big 2-run double for the Cacti in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Albuquerque leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Naizen Uchiyama and stroked the double to right-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cacti ahead, 3-0.

"I felt good up there," said Scannell. "I saw the ball well."

Fort Worth, at 14-26, has lost 5 straight.
