The Bowling Green Racers bested the Fairfield Flash, 8-1, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Doug Sanders was named player of the game. He went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The Racers bumped their record to 24-17 with this latest triumph.
António Ayala swatted a 2-run home run for Bowling Green in the top of the second. The third baseman went 2 for 2 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 3.
