The Calgary Kodiaks picked up a win at Excavatar Park, knocking off the Peoria Caterpillars, 4-2. Starting pitcher Humberto Saucedo, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Saucedo picked up the win for Calgary, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. The Kodiaks, now at 15-20, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.

The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from center fielder Jayden Rossell. For the game, Rossell was 1-5. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 33rd hit of the season gave Calgary a 4-2 lead.

"Humberto is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Calgary manager Shigetaka Ohayashi.
