Fans at Golden Gate Park were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown San Francisco Earthquakes take on the Mile High Mustangs.

San Francisco starter Edgardo Sáenz pitched effectively against the Mile High Mustangs at Golden Gate Park. The right-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. San Francisco reliever Willy Ortiz picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Yoshiki Sato was collared with the loss.

Gerard Vivian, who is rated as the 7th best prospect by BNN, aided the San Francisco cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Sáenz said.

San Francisco, now 8-12, is off to a slow start.
