|
The Detroit Death Stars faced a tough opponent in Omaha pitcher Fred Argueta, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Anchorage Municipal Stadium by a final score of 3-2. Argueta went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Yoshikazu Ichihara picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 3-2. The Raptors fall to 12-18 and continue their lackluster start in 2033.
Raúl Fernández drove in one run for Detroit. The 26-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Fred Argueta. It was his 17th RBI of the season.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Detroit manager David Parker.
