The 2033 season is getting ugly for Calgary.
Behind a solid performance from left fielder Itsuka Arakaki, the Billings Mustangs defeated the Calgary Kodiaks, 5-4. Arakaki was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI for the Mustangs. Cris Ayala was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. John Otten finished to wrap up his 4th save.
The Mustangs got a big at-bat from second baseman Blair Donahue. For the game, Donahue went 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 4th hit of the season gave Billings a 3-1 lead.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Arakaki said.
The Mustangs raised their record to 20-9.
