Racers Win at Bronx, 8-4
|
The Bowling Green Racers defeated the Bronx Bombers, 8-4, at Bronx Ballpark. Bowling Green designated hitter Frank Nicholson was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Losses have been few and far between for the Bombers, who are now 23-7.
Nicholson had a key at-bat for Bowling Green early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Bowling Green an early 4-0 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Nicholson, "and today was a good one for us."
