Fort Worth and Joplin duked it out at The Firepit and the Cats came out victorious.

Fort Worth right-hander Nicolas Dupuis pitched his team to victory over the Joplin Fireballs at The Firepit. The final score was 7-5. The Cats are off to a tough start, getting just their 11th win in 30 games.

Ken Paul, who is tied for 9th in the NAL with a .424 on-base percentage, aided the Fort Worth cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We take it day by day here," said Paul, "and today was a good one for us."
