Racers Lose, 4-1, at Bronx Ballpark
|
Jerry Hughes never let the Racers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Bombers to a 4-1 win. Hughes got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 8.1 innings. Hughes allowed 1 earned run. The Bombers, now 23-6, have been playing some good baseball.
The Bombers picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"I thought we played a nice game," Hughes told the Bronx Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
