The Calgary Kodiaks overcame a good performance by Canton catcher Micah Lee to knock off Canton, 5-4, at Foothills Stadium. Lee went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. Calgary reliever Matis Barrier picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Benny Hartley shouldered the loss. Calgary is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 9th win in 27 games.
Wang-gi Park, who is rated as the 75th best prospect by BNN, aided the Calgary cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman went 1-4 with a double.
"Both teams played hard," said Calgary manager Shigetaka Ohayashi.
