Death Stars Stymie Silver Lake, Take 6-1 Win
|
With left fielder Kol-in-sen Pai leading the charge, the Detroit Death Stars defeated the Silver Lake Baristas, 6-1, at The Death Star. Pai was 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Detroit reliever Lorenzo Ortega picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Carl Veeck absorbed the loss. The Baristas fall to 9-18 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Pai had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Death Stars went on to win.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Pai told the Detroit Daily.
