Victory Over Titans Takes Billings to 16-8
The Billings Mustangs got a stellar performance from pitcher Cris Ayala, who handcuffed the Chicago offense en route to a 3-1 win at The War Dome. Ayala got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. Ayala allowed 1 earned run. John Otten earned the save, his 3rd, for the Mustangs.

Jeff Bettcher drew 2 walks for Billings. The top prospect had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jin-oh Pak. It was his 8th RBI of the season.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Bettcher. "And not try to do too much."

At 16-8, the Mustangs have played well so far.
