McFarland Helps Coal Miners Run Win Streak to 5
|
The Antioch Coal Miners topped the Albuquerque Cacti, 7-4, in Darryl Kile League action at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The player of the game was Antioch first baseman Scott McFarland. Matsuyo Koda, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 1-3. Nicolas Joubert recorded the save for Antioch, his 4th of the season.
Early in the game, McFarland had a run-scoring double for Antioch. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Coal Miners on top, 2-1.
