Bombers Best Banditos in Pitching Duel
|
Benefiting from Mark Bowden's productive game, the Bronx Bombers downed the Acapulco Banditos, 2-1. Bowden was 4-4 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Bombers. Max Grant picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-0. He struck out 7 in 5.2 innings. At 19-6, the Bombers have played well so far.
The Bombers got a big at-bat from first baseman Steve Lindsey. For the game, Lindsey was 1-3 with a walk. In the top of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 28th hit of the season gave Bronx a 2-1 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Lindsey told the Bronx Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
