6-for-7 Day for Kruger
A jubilant Tony Kruger joined the postgame press conference at Anchorage Municipal Stadium today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Omaha Raptors pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Astoria Argonauts right fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 6-for-7 hitting performance, which led the Argonauts to a 22-4 win.

"He made it look easy," said Jim Fernández, manager of the Raptors. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Tony Kruger singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

Looking at his present stats, Kruger has compiled a .372 batting average in 22 games with a .464 on-base percentage, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 12 runs.
